Inns of Court Gold Cup makes history

Saturday 17th May 2025 saw two firsts in Epee Club history; firstly, there were more women members than men fencing in the Inns of Court Gold Cup at Hurlingham. Georgina Usher, Sue Brooks and Mariette Mason out-numbered their male opponents Rob Brooks and Al Barbasiewicz. Secondly, the role-out of the new piste with our more prominent position near the show courts. 

Al ran out the winner with Georgina in second, Rob in third, Mariette in fourth and Sue in fifth. The Inns of Court Trophy was presented to Al by Patricia Glasswell. Referee was Malcolm Alton assisted by Anton Pollard.

Supporters cheering the ladies on were Brian Hill, James Noel and Ian Hunter, club President David Partridge along with Vice Presidents John Glasswell and Lawrence Burr.
