Ranelagh Cup 2026

A glorious day dawned on Sunday 5th July and the Ranelagh Cup 2026 at Hurlingham was no exception. A fine turn out of fencers and spectators ensured a joyous afternoon in wonderful surroundings. What better way of spending a beautiful summers afternoon, before the rigours of watching England progress in the World Cup. I digress.

Seven club members competed for the cup, Steve Bateman, Rob and Sue Brooks, Anton Pollard, Andrew Brannon, Phillipe Barbasievicz and Lawrence Burr donned the uniform and took part in what was a closely fought poule. With Steve coming out as the undefeated winner, Phil second and Rob 3rd.

Refereeing was Pat Casey and Howard West, spectating was John and Patricia Glasswell, David Partridge, Fiona Brannon, Ken and Fran Pearman, Alp and Pinar Orge, and Alex Brooks,  The Ranelagh trophy was presented to Steve by Patricia Glasswell. Tea and refreshments were taken in the outdoor terrace in front of the Harness room.
