EPEE CLUB MEMBERS OUT IN FORCE

Epée Club members turned out in force for the recent British Veterans Fencing 2026 Age Group Championships held at the Harvey Haddon Sports Complex in Nottingham on the 21st and 22nd March.

Leading the pack was Georgina Usher and Hugh Kernohan who secured gold medals in the women’s cat 2 (50+) epée and men’s cat 3 (60+) epée, respectively.

Close on their heels with a silver medal in the men’s cat 2 (50+) epée was Greg Allen.

Completing the medal table with a collection of bronze medals were: Anton Pollard, men’s epée cat 4 (70+); Neal Mallett, men’s epée cat 3 (60+); John Prime, men’s epée cat 2 (50+): Susan Uff with bronze medals in the women’s cat 4 (70+) epée and foil.

Also competing were: Sue Brooks, women’s cat 4 (70+) epée and foil; Steve Bateman, men’s epée cat 1 (40+); Phil Barbasiewic, men’s epée cat 1 (40+); Tim Buzwell, men’s epée cat 2 (50+); Neale Thomas, men’s epée cat 3 (60+).

Also in attendance giving vital support was Rob Brooks, and doing the armoury was Peter Huggins.
