EC Members take medals at Veteran World Championships

Members of the Epee Club took part in this years Veteran’s World Fencing Championships in Bahrain, held between 12th and 21st November. Leading the way for the ladies with a gold and bronze medal was Georgina Usher with a 3rd place in the individual women’s epee, cat 2 (50+).  The individual competition proved to be just a warm-up as 2 days later Georgina led the Women’s Epee Team to victory in the Veteran’s (40+ and 50+) category. 

Sue Uff, taking part in both the epee and foil events along with both Grand Veteran’s (60+ and 70+) foil and epee teams, was successful in collecting a bronze medal in the Grand Veterans Women’s Team Foil event.

Leading the way for the men was Anton Pollard with a well deserved 3rd place and bronze medal in the cat4 (70+) Men’s Epee individual. 

In total nine members of the Epee Club took part in the Championships held over the nine days in Manama.
