2025 Lavradio completes our summer of celebration.

Sunday 27th July saw our final outing of the summer, this our celebration year, at Hurlingham for the 2025 Lavradio Cup.

A large contingent of members, fencers, family, and friends gathered for this year’s final competition at the Hurlingham Club. The day started with members gathering for a lunch in the newly refurbished Brasserie, with the fencing commencing slightly later at 15.00.

Overcast skies did not deter ten competitors from donning their kit and taking to the piste. The number being split into two poules of 5, each fencing to the best of 9 hits. The top two in each poule going forward to a semi-final and final fence off.

After some very closely fought fights in the poules, the semi-finals were Rob Brooks against Al Barbasiewicz, and Steve Bateman against John Prime with John and Al progressing to the final.

Another hard and closely fought fight saw John emerge the winner.
