Our AGM and dinner was held last Friday evening at the Army & Navy Club. There were 22 of us in attendance, with the meeting itself containing some good discussion around the progress of the Epée Club CIO and developments within British Fencing. Stepping down from his position of Honorary Treasurer, Andrew Brannon was thanked for his service to the Club and appointed VP, with Philippe Barbasiewicz elected his replacement.
Following the AGM, dinner was held in the Library – during which the Boris Berliand Cup was awarded to Alain Barbasiewicz.
On Saturday, the Inns of Court Gold Cup was held on the (occasionally) sun-dappled lawns of the Hurlingham Club. The pool of 8 consisted of Alain Barbasiewicz, Rob Brooks, Lawrence Burr, Neal Mallett, David Partridge and Jonathan Stanbury as well as Nigel Fancourt and Leonora Mackinnon as guests.
The pool contained some hotly-contested matches, with the Cup being won after a barrage between Neal and Al; Neal emerged the deserved victor and was presented his spoils by Marie-Paul Mackinnon.
